Digital Transformation: Speed is as Important as Financial & Social Impact

KY & Company Founder & CEO: Mike Kwok

Our founding director, Mike Kwok, is invited for an interview with startup.info about digital transformation and innovation under COVID19

Here what are inside the interview:

We talked to Mike Kwok of KY & Company about consultancy in digital transformation, and he had the following to say:-

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?

Mike Kwok: Thank you! We are very healthy and adaptive to the new normal. We are very optimistic that the pandemic will end soon.

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded KY & Company.

Mike Kwok: I started more than 10 years ago on driving digital transformation projects globally. I experienced many improvement opportunities within different corporates and government bodies with digital solutions, but they sometimes fail to innovate, monetize the solution, or generate intended social impact. That’s why I came out of KY & Company focusing on digitizing, getting value from data & automating the business processes from ideation to implementation in APAC countries.

How does KY & Company innovate?

Mike Kwok: We market our innovation as a service to transform and influence organizations to change, so it makes sense that the innovation DNA is built from hiring to running projects. We place cultural diversity and passion for technologies as two of the important indicators in talent management. We have been running Flexi and result driven working culture under a super flat organization for the last 2 years. With agile scrum methodology, we generate minimum viable products with a short cycle and constantly research & test them to capture user feedback.

How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?

Mike Kwok: Covid-19 pandemic to us is a new opportunity since most organizations rethink the importance of digitization and automation to their business. From digitally engaging their customers for Omni channels expansion and user experience improvement to automating the routine processes are the key for our customers to differentiate among their competitors.

Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?

Mike Kwok: Time and perfection in implementing a project have always been a tough decision. Customers always want to have high speed to market while keeping the solution perfect. Our stand is to strike a balance between perfection and timely delivery and hence capture user feedback to improve the solution more effectively. The outcomes are far better than what the customers thought.

How do you deal with stress and anxiety? How do you project yourself and KY & Company in the future?

Mike Kwok: While I am re-inventing healthcare, I noticed personalized exercise is the best & natural therapy for me to relieve. I project KY & Company to be a leading digital transformation consultant that drives our clients’ innovation and emerging technologies.

Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?

Mike Kwok: There are lots of different system integrators and technology service providers in APAC, but our differentiation is to cover the entire digital transformation journey from strategy design, rapid prototyping, development, testing to the commercialization of the solution under an agile approach. We are ahead of the game to deliver quality projects using quick design sprints.

Your final thoughts?

Mike Kwok: I believe KY & Company, as a niche digital transformation consultancy start-up, will prove their value with innovations and differentiated implementation strategy compared to the traditional consultancy giants. We will continue disrupting the IT and business consultancy sector by delivering positive financial impacts via digital transformation.
